Putty containing an effects pigment mimicking the appearance of a shiny metal for making metallic-looking models and metal surface repair

SKU: MILLIPUT-METALLIC Categories: ,

Description

Milliput Metallic is an epoxy putty containing an effects pigment which enables the cured material to mimic the appearance of shiny metal.

It is used to make metallic-looking sculpts in military, railway, farm and ship modelling. Milliput Metallic will also seamlessly repair chips, hole and damage in metal surfaces and parts.

Milliput comes as a two-part, cold setting, non shrinking epoxy putty in cartons containing one 56.7gm stick of resin and one 56.7gm of hardener.

The two parts are mixed together in equal quantities, sparking a chemical reaction which turns the soft putty into a rock-hard substance. Whilst soft, it can be shaped, moulded, sculpted and formed.

Milliput hardens in three to four hours depending on room temperature, offering plenty of time to work with the putty. The cure speed can be accelerated with the use of heat.

It cures underwater, is heat-resistant to 130°C and can be smoothed with water. Once fully cured Milliput can be machined, drilled, tapped, turned, filed, sawn, sandpapered and painted.

As well as Milliput Metallic, there are six other grades available: Standard (cures to a dark yellow), Terracotta, Black, Superfine White, Silver Grey and Turquoise Blue. These other grades can be viewed on the Milliput section of our website.

For a harder wearing but equally easy-to-use alternative to Milliput, please see Geomfix Original A+B Modelling Putty. Geomfix Original can be used effectively on fine, delicate work as well as the largest of models or repairs.
