Description
The 2-Way Flexi-File comes with two grades of micro abrasives, one per side. Three different 2-Way Flexi-Files are available for deburring, polishing and then smoothing small areas of metal up to a final finish.
2-Way Flexi-Files are padded boards coated with Sylmasta Micro Abrasives. The File is easy-to-use, maintains even pressure during application and comes with a degree of flexibility which allows the board to take the shape of the item being worked on.
Sylmasta Micro Abrasives feature a cushioned holding layer to prevent the abrasive grit from digging into the surface and cutting aggressively. This enables them to cut surfaces and materials with a planing motion, creating an extremely consistent, regular and fine scratch pattern.
This high-quality finish and the flexibility of the 2-Way Flexi-File makes it a popular tool with model makers, restorers and those in the metal finishing industry for rapidly removing material, polishing contoured areas and smoothing jagged edges.
The three different types of 2-Way Flexi-File are:
- Coarse: 100MX / 150MX – For initial material removal
- Medium: 180MX / 240MX – For smoothing
- Final Finish: 400MX / 600MX – For the final polish
Using all three 2-Way Flexi-Files in conjunction with each other creates a highly polished metal surface. The Coarse 2-Way Flex-File is used to debur, the Medium File smooths and the Final Finish completes the polish.
The Coarse 100MX / 150MX 2-Way Flexi-File conforms to NATO stock number (NSN) 5350-01-337-3046.
Flex-Files are 150mm long. They are reusable and last a long time, making them a cost-effective polishing tool.
