Description

Chinaglaze is a low temperature, perfectly clear, non-yellowing glaze used to repair and reglaze china, ceramic, pottery and other materials.

It is normally fired at only at 80°C (176°F) for just 30 minutes. Chinaglaze has low odour and cures to produce a hard, smooth finish with high strength surface adhesion.

When mixed with pigments or oil colours, Chinaglaze can be used to repaint patterns. Powder pigments are recommended instead of oils to better retain the strength of the glaze.

Chinaglaze can be applied by paintbrush or airbrush. To achieve a suitable viscosity for airbrushing, add up to 25 percent by volume of HP733 Thinners to the Chinaglaze mix.

Lowering the viscosity of Chinaglaze with Thinners can also help make application via paintbrush easier. Chinaglaze is sold in 1 litre tins.

For a glazing product which cures at room temperature with no need for firing, please see Coldglaze PRO 2 Clear Gloss.

Professional curators and museums trust Coldglaze for restoring priceless items which could not withstand the heat used in traditional glazing processes, such as pieces which have undergone repair using adhesives.
