Putty which sets to black for creating darker models, jewellery making and repairing damage without the need for painting afterwards

SKU: MILLIPUT-BLACK Categories: ,

Description

Milliput Black is an epoxy putty which sets straight to black, making it ideal for applications where the user wants to match a black surface without the need for painting.

It is used by model makers for military, railway, farm and ship modelling when coal and other dark materials are being created. Milliput Black can also be used to repair guttering, ebonised wood, marble, slate and cast iron.

Milliput comes as a two-part, cold setting, non shrinking epoxy putty in cartons containing one 56.7gm stick of resin and one 56.7gm of hardener.

The two parts are mixed together in equal quantities, sparking a chemical reaction which turns the soft putty into a rock-hard substance. Whilst soft, it can be shaped, moulded, sculpted and formed.

Milliput hardens in three to four hours depending on room temperature, offering plenty of time to work with the putty. The cure speed can be accelerated with the use of heat.

It cures underwater, is heat-resistant to 130°C and can be smoothed with water. Once fully cured Milliput can be machined, drilled, tapped, turned, filed, sawn, sandpapered and painted.

As well as Milliput Black, there are five other grades available: Standard (cures to a dark yellow), Terracotta, Silver Grey, Superfine White and Turquoise Blue. These other grades can be viewed on the Milliput section of our website.

For a harder wearing but equally easy-to-use alternative to Milliput, please see Geomfix Original A+B Modelling Putty. Geomfix Original can be used effectively on fine, delicate work as well as the largest of models or repairs.

There is also the Geomfix Coloured range of modelling epoxy putty available in 22 different colours, matching Swarovski crystals.

Geomfix Coloured is highly customisable. If the colour you require is not listed as one of the 22, then SylCreate have the ability to custom produce a coloured modelling putty to match your requirements. For more information on this service, please contact SylCreate.
