Very-low viscosity polyurethane resin which is extra searching for picking out fine details when casting intricate or extremely small parts

SKU: G27LV Category:

PolyCast G27 LV Polyurethane Casting Resin is a very low viscosity, fast curing, two-part resin which is extra searching for making highly-detailed copies of the most intricate and smallest parts.

Each 2kg Polycast Kit contains 1kg of resin and 1kg of hardener. These are mixed in equal measures and then poured into a mould of an original item. The resin cures, forming a robust and accurate plastic replica of the original.

Scale model makers use G27 LV to create reproductions of masters they have sculpted from epoxy putty or kit parts which have been modified.

Resin artists use G27 LV to copy items from original work, including jewellery, figurines and other artefacts. Industrial users replicate machine parts with G27 LV, avoiding the repetitive task of fabricating new components or prototypes.

Parts made using PolyCast Casting Resins have very low shrinkage and do not sag or distort with heat. As a result, Polycast Resins are renowned and trusted for their high detail and repeatability.

G27 LV has a pot life of 120 seconds, enabling casts to be produced quickly. It offers the shortest de-moulding time of any Polycast Resin, just 15 minutes to 10mm thick.

It cures to a light beige colour (Original) as standard. It is also available in grey. For other colours, SylCreate have the facility to custom make resins colour-matched to a specific Pantone or RAL colour.

If you require customisation, please contact SylCreate via email with the full Pantone or RAL Colour Reference number for a quote. Alternatively, oil-based or dry pigments can be added by the user to colour the resin.

For those new to the casting and moulding process, you can find instructions in our Showcase article How to make and use a two-part silicone mould for resin casting. There is also a video available under the Videos tab on this product page.

G27 LV Polyurethane Casting Resin Testimonials

Bo Christian Koch, scale model maker from Denmark working on a March Indy Car project:

“I wanted to add a dozen different March Indy Cars to my collection, all with different liveries. I worked one master body and then cast many new ones using 380 Rubber and G27 LV, which I could then paint in the different designs. The low viscosity, high detail of G27 made it perfect for getting even extremely thin details to stand out.”

Can I use pigments to colour my resin?
Yes. Both oil-based and dry pigments should be fine for colouring resins. We recommend that you mix a small amount of resin with your pigments first to test the compatibility. Water-based pigments should not be used.

I opened my resin custom-coloured by SylCreate and it has no colour. Is there a problem with it?
No. Coloured pigments in the resin can settle to the bottom after manufacture, particularly if the resin has not been used for some time. Simply shake the tin and stir the contents to disperse the colour back into the resin.
