Description
The 3-Way Flexi-File comes with three grades of micro abrasives, which when worked through lead up to a very smooth finish of wood, metals and plastics.
One side of the 3-Way Flexi-File features abrasive grades 2400 (pink) and 4000 (white). Grade 2400 is used to first roughen the surface, followed by 4000 to smooth.
The other side of the 3-Way Flexi-File is covered with grade 12000. This is used last to provide the final finish.
3-Way Flexi-Files are easy to use. As a padded board coated with Sylmasta Micro Abrasives, they maintain even pressure during application and come with a degree of flexibility which allows them to take the shape of the item being worked.
Sylmasta Micro Abrasives feature a cushioned holding layer to prevent the abrasive grit from digging into the surface and cutting aggressively. This enables them to cut surfaces and materials with a planing motion, creating an extremely consistent, regular and fine scratch pattern.
This high-quality finish and the flexibility of the 3-Way Flexi-File makes it a popular tool with model makers, restorers, and those in the wood and metal finishing industries for polishing contoured areas and smoothing jagged edges.
The 3-Way Flexi-File is 150mm long. It is reusable and lasts a long time, making them a cost-effective polishing tool. It conforms to NATO stock number (NSN) 5350-01-337-3047.
For rapid deburring and removing of materials, the 2-Way Flexi-File should be used before the 3-Way Flexi-File. The 2-Way Flexi-File features coarser grades of micro abrasives.
Alternatively, the 4-Way Flexi-File combines four grades of micro abrasives for carrying out the entire process from deburring to final finish.
